All Things Butter is moo-ving with the trends. We’ve seen this style of quirky illustration before, especially on milk alternatives, but it’s interesting to see how butter might be joining the bandwagon on disruptive dairy design. With a strong social media base, I’m sure Gen Z will absorb the bold and brave messaging All Things Butter are clearly offering. But when it comes to the weekly shop, will the consumer sway to a brand with a purple cow dancing on the front, or will they pick up another pack of the butter they’ve already got in the fridge?
At the end of the day, I’m all for making butter beautiful, not boring. It takes bravery to do what they’re doing!
In isolation, visually, All Things Butter is simply jumping on the band wagon of other Gen Z targeted brands, following a trend of pastels and quirky brand attitude.
Yet, in a category of recognised heritage brands, adding a fresh, playful dynamic certainly disrupts, challenges the norm and draws you in out of curiosity if nothing else. With its Chef-led flavours, and a mission to ‘elevate every day eating’ it will be interesting to see if this brand has staying power as it becomes more established.
A lovely playful design that injects a bit of fun and disrupts a category that is usually very traditional and safe. Will the consumer try it because it’s so different or stay away because it doesn’t have the trust and heritage mark that the leading brands have established?
Will it start a mooovement? Wonderfully disruptive packaging in dairy, it seems to take cues from challenger brands in plant-based categories such as plant milks and plant meat like plant bacon ‘La vie’ for example – it’s certainly a prevalent trend that catches the eye. I would love to see how it stands the test of time (I for one love it). The sass of the illustrations tie really well with the unique foodie flavours of the artisan butter and it tastes pretty good too.
The new artisan dairy butter pack design is anything but typical, and I’m loving how this brand is shaking up the dairy aisle. It seems it’s not just butter, it’s a playful invitation to jazz up your buttery treat, with sweeter options like the cinnamon bun flavour. Most of all, I love the quirky cow illustrations – cows with personalities. For me, the use of pastel tones disrupts the usual monotony in this category. Delightful!
