Matt works with the packaging team at Flora, everyday, usually based at our UK headquarters. But due to a busy period ahead, Matt will be flying out to work alongside the team in the Netherlands. We asked him to tell us a bit about his trip.
From the moment he arrived at Flora’s R&D facility, nestled within the scenic and innovative Wageningen University & Research campus in the Netherlands, it was clear this was no ordinary site visit. “After familiarising myself with the area and arriving at the client’s offices, I was immediately immersed in their world” shared Matt, as he dove straight into understanding their ways of working and the daily challenges.
Surrounded by picturesque pathways, cycle lanes, serene lakes, and bold, modern architecture, Flora’s campus reflects the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Inside, every detail tells a story, from the visually striking “history wall” that charts Flora’s journey, to the ground floor’s chopping board shaped tables that playfully nod to their culinary roots. Upstairs, a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen offers a glimpse into the future of food.
During the visit, Matt worked closely with Flora’s Packaging Development Team, providing day-to-day support while identifying opportunities for greater efficiency. This immersive approach allowed him to not only understand Flora’s operational needs but also spot ways we at Sun Branding can deliver even more value.
It was a genuine privilege to go behind the scenes, something not many get to experience.
Talks about the mechanics, research, and testing involved in the manufacturing process was nothing short of fascinating. But this visit wasn’t just about process improvement or technical insight; it was about partnership. Flora has never been ‘just a client’. Our relationship is built on mutual trust, shared goals, and genuine collaboration. Their warm hospitality and openness were a testament to that.
Matt left with a renewed appreciation for the vital role we play at Sun Branding, in bringing their products to market.
Flora isn’t just a customer; they’re a true partner in every sense of the word.
And let’s not forget the cultural takeaways. The Dutch approach to office design didn’t go unnoticed: calm yet vibrant, busy yet productive. A perfect balance that encourages both creativity and focus.
Experiences like this deepen our understanding, strengthen our connections, and reaffirm our commitment to delivering packaging solutions that truly matter.
